What's New in Version 2.1
Eclipse Concurrency
Rapid SQL Developer 2.1 has been migrated to 3.5, taking advantage of the latest platform APIs, UI upgrades, and general improvements.
New DBMS Support
The Rapid SQL Developer 2.1 release introduces full support for the following DBMS products:
Common Rapid SQL Developer editor features such as automatic error detection, Code Assist, code formatting, and code templates are all available for the new platforms. Similarly, all familiar data source operations are supported for the new DBMS types.
Updated DBMS Concurrency
Rapid SQL Developer now provides support for IBM DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows 9.5 and Sybase ASE 15.0.2. New code templates are available for both DBMS plarforms, and for DB2 9.5 new editor support is provided for changed or additional expressions, functions, predicates, and data types

DBMS SUPPORT
The following DBMS versions are supported by Rapid SQL Developer:

All DBMS versions supported in the previous release are supported for this release.
IMPORTANT ADVISORY NOTES
Rapid SQL Developer can be installed as a standalone application (RCP installation) or as an Eclipse plug-in (Plug-in Installation). Eclipse is an open source development framework that supports application plug-ins to provide additional functionality.
The Eclipse plug-in version of Rapid SQL Developer requires Eclipse version 3.5 or higher, and Sun Java Standard Edition 5.0 Update 11 or later in addition to regular system requirements.
Before installing the plug-in version of Rapid SQL Developer, ensure that Eclipse and Java are installed on your machine. You can download Eclipse from the following Web site: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/
