All-Access Web Site | Embarcadero Technologies Home | Technical Support
ReadMe Last Updated: October 6, 2009. Any updates to these notes will be available at docs.embarcadero.com.
Thank you for using Embarcadero All-Access, a comprehensive tool chest of award-winning, multi-platform Embarcadero products. All-Access Client enables you to access a wide range of applications from a single launch point. With Embarcadero All-Access you can get:
- All-Access Pass - a license key that unlocks all tools for a given All-Access level.
- All-Access Client, also called All-Access ToolBox - a lightweight zero-install client which provides a primary entry point into the various products used with All-Access. You can launch, install, update, and select product versions, all from a single user interface; and configure it to run standalone, to receive products from Embarcadero, or to run with an All-Access server on your own network.
- All-Access Server, also called All-Access ToolCloud - lets you centrally provision, manage and update your All-Access software and licenses inside your own firewall. You control what applications and software versions are available to end users via their All-Access Client. With network licensing, you can use the server to centrally control the list of authorized users and their product licenses.
- All-Access Membership - provides support, updates, upgrades, new products, and access to premium content on the Embarcadero Developer Network (EDN), plus Embarcadero InstantOn for click-and-run access to your tools without installation.
For more information, see the All-Access Client User Guide at docs.embarcadero.com.

System Requirements
All-Access Client is a Windows application with no significant requirements.

Known Issues
- If you are connecting to an All-Access Server, please use the version of the Client bundled with the Server. Some stand-alone versions of the All-Access Client will not allow you to connect to an All-Access Server.
- Some product Help and Check update buttons are disabled. (ALACS-824)
- You can copy only one product version installer to a machine. A
file already exists
message will occur. (ALACS-347)
- After installing Delphi, Delphi Prism, or C++Builder, the Install tab is not enabled. Restart the Client to re-enable the Install tab. (ALACS-674)
- After installing JBuilder 2008 R2 using the Copy to Local option, Copy to Local is not disabled. The button should become disabled because the product version was already copied. (ALACS-676)
- After installing JBuilder 2008 R2 using the Copy to Local option, Copy to Local is not disabled. The button should become disabled because the product version was already copied. (ALACS-676)
- After upgrading to a new version of a product, the Launch button for the previous version appears active, even though the product is no longer available. Restart the Client to update the state of the button. (ALACS-1966, 1968)
- On XP, a 'Could not create the Java virtual machine' error occurs when launching an InstantOn product. Increasing the JVM memory allocation may fix the problem. (ALACS-1971)
The following table lists outstanding known issues for products available from the Client.
Rapid SQL Developer
|
Rapid SQL Developer has the following known issues:
- An error may occur when opening another application instance while the first instance is still open
- On Vista, a "Java heap space" situation can arise in the InstantOn application when querying a table with a large number of records
|
ER/Studio
|
ER/Studio has the following known issues:
- You can access ER/Studio Portal from a browser, from outside the All-Access Client. This ability requires a separate server install, which you can get from the All-Access page on EDN.
- Certain Help files (for example, SAX Basic Help) cannot be launched from the InstantOn version of ER/Studio.
- ER/Studio Viewer is available in the Client workstation mode, for all levels, but is licensed only for Bronze and Silver levels.
- ER/Studio Viewer is not available in the Client in server mode for Silver level.
|
JBuilder
|
The JBuilder InstantOn application has the following known issues:
- There is a performance degradation due to pending memory issues.
- A virtualization error dialog is thrown on exit. Functionality is not affected.
- The J Optimizer Agent Controller fails to register the process to be profiled and prompts for a restart of the controller. Anwering yes to the prompt, successfully restarts the agent controller and fixes the issue.
|
InterBase SMP
|
The InterBase SMP application has the following known issues:
- When InterBase is in a multi-installation environment where the instance is uniquely identified, the Installed tab in the All-Access Client does not become enabled. However, you can launch InterBase outside of All Access.
- Licensing for InterBase installed from within All-Access is driven by All-Access. You must not use the InterBase License Manager to expand on these licenses.
|
DBArtisan
|
DBArtisan has the following known issue:
- When opening the Details window for the Bottleneck Analysis in Performance Analyst for Oracle datasources, if Rapid SQL was previously installed, the installer might start. Cancel it and reopen the Details page.
|
